We've been stuffed in a smallish tent due to being "two up" on one motorcycle. We now are using a hatchback car so were looking into a bigger tent :D Seriously looking at a Wenzel Fern Ridge Family Dome with the "Screened porch" attached. Anybody ever use one of these, I'd be really happy to get the "pro's/con's" from you. We use a queen size air matteress and in our old 9X9 Wally-Mart Special ( a heck of a good tent for $40.00, jmho), we had "no room" to move around. The Fren Ridge is bigger and the screened porch would be great for the "evening" to keep out the BUGS! Any suggestions, comments, ect. are appreciated!

I have not tried the Fern Ridge myself, but I it looks like a great idea with that scren porch. My wife and I also use a queen size air bed when we go camping. We have an older Wenzel tent called the Red River. It seems to work well for us. I lean towards the Wenger tents for quality though.

Howdy RT, why do you think the "Wenger Tents" are better quality?? We don't (at this time), plan on "winter camping" so a 3 season tent should surfice for us. Cost is a big factor but if the Wenzel Tents are of poor quality, then maybe I better be looking elsewhere?? Suggetions, comments, ect. are welcome :)

Hi,
I have actually tried both Wenzel and Wenger and I guess it's just a personal taste. Wenger seems to have a little better design. I guess I shouldn't have used the word quality because I have never had a problem with Wenzel. I saw your photo's and they are really fantastic. Is that in Colorado?

Sounds good, I really would like to try the tent with the screen porch so I think we will give it a go. The price on the tent is really fair so if we don't like it, it won't be a big loss to just sell it and buy a different tent next year. Tents are Soooooooo cheap next to even the most bottom line "Pop-Up Tent Camper"!!!
Ya, it's just outside of Woodland Park, CO. the trail starts at the border of the Pike National Forest, it's called: Lovell Gultch Trail a really nice 6 mile loop trail. The snow was DEEP, it was a good hike but you had to stay on the path or you could be up to your hips in snow!! Gona have to try "snowshoeing" to be able to keep hiking in the mountains during the winter months!
